Wootton Academy Trust

Wootton Academy Trust is a great employer. We invest very heavily in our staff not only because it is the right thing to do but also because when we do we recognise that will invest much, much more in our students. Therefore every new employee has an individualised induction programme and a mentor who will work with you to identify how your CPD needs can be best met in a timely manner.

Many of our staff go on to achieve internal promotions enabling these individuals to develop their careers without having to change employer and move home.

Wootton Academy Trust operates Wootton Upper School and Kimberley 16-19 STEM College.

Our students – who come from the villages around Wootton as well as Bedford and Kempston – have great opportunities to excel in the arts and sports. This year our U14 and U18 rugby teams won the Bedfordshire County Cups; our girls’ reached the English Schools National Cross Country finals and individuals have gone on to represent England in rugby, netball, dodgeball, badminton. Our students put on shows every term. Our next production in July is Billy Elliott. We have links with schools in France and Germany and there are lots of trips and visits to enrich students’’ learning.

We want the very best staff to work with our students. Whilst we were devastated to get a requires improvement grade in our last Ofsted inspection, having always been good before, we know there are lots of teachers and support staff who want to work in a school like ours to help us to be at least good quickly and then move towards outstanding.

Applicants are very welcome to make pre visits or simply pick up the phone if they prefer.
